Imusa Cast Aluminum Caldero 44 centimeter, 17.9 Quart, NSF Certified

Excellent Pot, This is an excellent pot for cooking food from the stove to the oven. I often cook Charleston Red Rice and it is perfect for mixing the rice and cooking on stovetop then moving it to the oven. This is my favorite pot and I plan to buy one more for backup and for my dauthter..
Imusa, I have had one of these for many years and love it. Since my daughter borrowed it so often and it wasn't in my house when I needed it, I decided to buy her a present:) I love the large flat surface that helps food cook evenly in a shorter time period. I can also remove the knob and put it in the oven.

Pillivuyt Porcelain 8-Cup, 8-1/4-Inch Classic Pleated Souffle Dish

excellent quality and very useful, (What's this?) this product is excellent. Porcelain is nice and translucent. the product goes in freezer as well as microwave and oven. I used it for small souffles, flans, custards, or to warm leftovers. I also used them to make custards with bain marie. I put them in the dishwasher with no fear. The procelain is so nice that I used it from oven to the table. It is, I was told with no lead and cadmium, which means that I can put them in the fridge with food in it with no fear.
Pillivuyt 4-inch diameter pleated souffle, (What's this?) The 4-inch diameter Pillivuyt souffle dishes are perfect for individual savory or dessert souffles, but they have many other uses as well, from mise en place in the kitchen to holding grated cheese or condiments on the table. Pillivuyt quality is very high -- you can tell at a glance that these are not cheaply made.

Note that there are two 4-inch diameter Pillivuyt pleated souffles, but at present the Amazon descriptions do not accurately distinguish them. The "deep classic" souffle is 2.5 inches high and holds 1.
Arrived in perfect condition, (What's this?)
Wonderful product--lousy service on Amazon's part, (What's this?) I actually received two of these from Amazon--both smashed to smithereens. After I received the first one and reported that it had arrived broken due to an extremely poor job of packing on Amazon's part, they sent me another, It was likewise poorly packed and also arrived broken. I haven't had time to repack and return the broken shards to Amazon, so haven't received a refund. I did, however, purchase the same souffle dish from another company who takes care to pack things properly and I love it--wonderful product.

This traditional soufflé dish is ideally shaped to help stiff, beaten egg whites folded with cheesy sauce rise to the loftiest heights and color to a handsome gold. This dish has straight sides that puff the soufflé directly upward and ensure that the top is lightly browned. Thin, even walls on the sides of the dish provide magnificent heat conduction for the perfect firm-yet-moist consistency and enable the dish to retain its heat at the table. An exquisite specimen of fine French pottery, this soufflé dish is a milky white color with a gorgeous pleated exterior that makes it an attractive serving vessel that goes from oven to table. With a 8-1/4-inch diameter and a capacity of 8 cups, this dish serves a large soufflé for a hosted brunch or holiday gathering and can also double as a baker for large casseroles or a bowl for serving cold vegetable salads. Family-founded in 1818, the Pillivuyt porcelain factory still employs skilled artisans who use the company's proprietary porcelain recipe and the original time-honored traditions of handcrafting each piece.

Granite Ware 11 5/8 Quart Tamale and Menudo Pot with Insert

Great!!, (What's this?) Used the steamer for tamales and it worked great..

  • Cleans up easily with warm soapy water
  • No chemicals to alter food's taste
  • Constructed of low carbon steel
  • 11-1/2-quart
  • Great for cooking tamales

  • Cleans up easily with warm soapy water. No chemicals to alter food's taste.Constructed of low carbon steel.11-1/2-quart.Great for cooking tamales. This 11.5 Qt pan is constructed of low carbon steel with glass coating. The glass like surface is inert and does not react with or alter the taste of food, color or healthfullness. Even the most stubborn foods clean up easily with warm soapy water. The porcelain surface will protect the flavor of delicate dishes and creates a durable, chip resistant pot that lasts most families a lifetime. Perfect for cooking tamales and menudos. Comes with insert. Porcelain enamel is the result of fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 degrees Celsius. The powder melts and flows and hardens to a durable vitreous coating on a carbon steel core. It creates a smooth, hard finish that won’t burn and resists staining. It’s also non -porous so it won’t trap odors or food particles and provides a low coefficient of friction – meaning that it cleans up easily and, it is corrosion and chemically resistant so it will last a long time. When fired, the vessel is placed on pins so the bottom and sides are hardened during the firing process into one smooth laminated glass surface. You may notice slight pin indentations where the glass has flowed around the pin that supports the base during firing. The pin marks do not compromise the finish or performance of the vessel in any way but you should take additional care in handling if using on glass top stove.

Imusa 12-Piece Espresso Set with Chrome Storage Rack, Yellow

Attractive but poorly packaged, (What's this?) These cups are just the right size for espresso, and they are actually more attractive than pictured - a warm mustard yellow with a medium brown rim. If you're familiar with Pfaltzgraff, these blend nicely with a number of their patterns.

HOWEVER...the rack is very cheap and flimsy and was broken when I received it. Likewise, one of the cup handles was smashed. I had no choice but to return the set.

I am extremely disappointed at Amazon's handling of my refund. Instead of spreading shipping and discounts proportionately across items as most retailers do, Amazon applied them entirely to this item, resulting in the minimum refund to me and maximum profit for them. Sad - Amazon used to be a model for the retail industry...
very nice, (What's this?) These are very nice, I love them cause they are small so they can fit under my home espresso maker which also is not that big. I purchased red ones first and after braking couple of them i got these yellow also. Now I use yellow cups with red coasters and other way around- very nice combo!
When I got them I found one coaster to be broken, but i had extra yellow ones so i didnt return them, watch out for that.
love it!, (What's this?) Was so excited to recieve this 12-piece Espresso set! and was so impressed with this item I ordered 2 sets.
Great espresso cups for the money, (What's this?) Purchased these cups for making authentic Italian coffee using Lavazza and my Bialetti espresso maker. These are a great color. The stand may not have pads on the feet, but it seems sturdy enough. It is a great price and exactly what I was looking for.
I am torn, (What's this?) And quite literally.
The packaging of this item was almost comical. The six cups arrived all right, luckily, as they were the main reason I purchased the set. However, one of the plates was broken in shipment, and it looked as if the box itself had come undone and a piece of saucer had fallen out because, when I tried to place the broken bits back together as one does a jigsaw puzzle, about a third was completely missing.
That said, the cups and five-sixths of the saucers look fantastic.
Broken during shipment, (What's this?) Opened the larger box and found the sellers package inside. I Knew something was wrong when I heard pieces rattling loosely in the box. When I opened the package I found one cup chipped and two others with their handles broken in several pieces. There was a good amount of bubble packing in the box, but it was all to one side. This allowed the sellers box to be exposed to damage so much so that the bottom smaller box had 4 holes in it where the legs of the espresso rack had punched through. One would expect better service from UPS, the seller or amazon.
Its pretty good and beautiful..., (What's this?) The Espresso set is pretty good and I would say this is a very good buy with this price..i.e. $9.
Cheap for a reason, (What's this?) Worst experience I've had with Amazon. Item arrived very poorly packed as a box within a box loosely filled with paper bag packing. This item was marked as fragile but the outer packaging was not. Arrived broken, chipped, and bent.
Adorable but broken, (What's this?) EXTREMELY CUTE AND FUNCTIONAL. But it wasn't well packed at all and two of the cups were broken. I recommend this product because it is great for the price but order it by itself so it will be nicely packed. Mine was shipped WITH my espresso machine with no additional padding on the sides of the box to protect it. LAME.
Poor packaging, (What's this?) These are adorable espresso cups and saucers, unfortunately, they were pretty poorly packaged and arrived with a cracked plate and saucer. At least I have 5 good ones left.

  • Brightly colored exterior with brown trim; muted cream-colored interior on the cups
  • 12-piece espresso set includes 6 3-ounce cups, 6 saucers, and a chrome storage rack
  • Rack's wired center and looped hooks keep everything neatly organized
  • Durable ceramic cups and saucers gleam with high-fired, glazed surfaces
  • Hand wash in warm soapy water; not recommended for dishwasher use

Constructed of thick, durable ceramic with a high-fired glaze, the beautiful cups and saucers feature a brightly colored exterior with brown trim and a neutral cream-colored interior on the cups. The cups also provide low profiles and generously sized handles that allow for sipping with ease. The matching ceramic saucers slope toward the center with slight indents to hold the cups steady, and the included chrome rack gleams with a polished finish of its own. Mounted on four sturdy legs with a wired circle that hosts the plates and six looped hooks to hold the cups, the rack's smoothly rounded handle ensures effortless transport from the kitchen to wherever the party gathers. Best of all, the versatile pieces lend a sophisticated and streamlined design to any dishware collection, and they blend tastefully with existing tableware, linens, and other decor. The cups and saucers should be hand washed only for best results. Both practical and pleasing to the eye, this handsome espresso set includes six 3-ounce espresso cups, six matching saucers, and an attractive rack that keeps everything neatly organized. The 12-piece set offers a memorable way to serve up a morning shot of energy or an evening nightcap. It can also be used as a fun way to dispense kid-friendly portions of cocoa, cider, or milk with a snack.

    All-American 30-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner

It's worth every penny, I use this pressure cooker for canning exclusively. If you can a lot of garden vegetables (if you do, you know what I mean by "a lot") there is no better product. Not only will you be able to can vegetables like beans that require pressure canning, but you will more quickly can tomatoes than you ever could in a water bath canner. Quality - especially American made quality - (how often do we see that these days in consumer goods?) doesn't come cheap, but it is an investment and will literally last a lifetime. A simply beautiful product, solid, thick, strong and durable. Don't hesitate. I know it's not cheap, but cheaper products will disappoint. Buy this and you'll never regret it.
    REALLY SOLID!, (What's this?)
twice as fast, (What's this?) better than my old canner you had to watch it every second so the pressure would not go to high and explode and because of the size I can can twice as much in the same time.
Great canner, (What's this?) This is a great canner and my Amazon purchase was flawless. I wish I'd bought this size 10 years ago. I now can do any size batch up to 14 quart jars at once. Great product.
Sucessfully used on a glass top stove, wonderful canner., I raise my own organic meat chickens (in the suburbs, no less) and knew that eventually I would have to get my own pressure canner to take advantage of the stock that can be made from the leftover bones after cutting up the dressed birds for the freezer. I did several hours of online research and people who really liked this canner reasoned that it was built like a tank and would (or already did) last for several several generations. It was also the only pressure canner that all the little Amish cookware shops sold when I shopped in Holmes county. Besides, I could do 14 quarts at a time, cutting my canning time in half!

After consulting my husband (this was a considerable purchase for us), we agreed that it would be worth it to get something that would last a really long time and not have to replace any gaskets and we were willing to take the risk since we currently owned a 7 year old Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 glass top stove. The stove is getting slow to heat pots and the oven runs about 50 degrees low and we'd really enjoy upgrading to a gas range someday so we agreed to be really careful and see if we could use the pressure canner on it.
Not a Throwaway, Had mine for over 25 years and it hasn't let me down yet. Due to the weight, it is hard on solid surface stoves. I'm replacing my range and would love an induction cooktop but NOT with this canner-that's why I'll have to spend big bucks for a pro line dual fuel (has those heavy cast iron grates). A pot filler is on the wish list so I don't have to lug water to fill this baby as I plan to can for as long as I breath.
THE standard for Pressure Cookers, (What's this?) All American has long been THE standard for pressure cookers. I use mine as a sterilizer for preparing mushroom spawn, and substrates. It also does a great job of making canned goods. The All American 930 easily fits 14 quart jars, or 6-8 spawn bags, depending on how full they are. Im very happy with this purchase, the price was right, and the shipping was free. This thing is built well enough, that my kids will be using it long after I am gone. This purchase was a great investment.
Exceeded my expectations, (What's this?) This pressure cooker is wonderful. It is made in the USA! I was able to process the double layer of jars on my flat-top cook-top without problems. It was exceptional easy to regulate the PSI as well. My mother has a pressure cooker from the same company that is 30+ years old and it is still going strong.
Best pressure canner, (What's this?) I previously had a pressure canner with a gasket that would always leak. The All-American canner has no gasket and therefore no problems with leaking. I also love the fact that I can process 14 quarts at a time. It is a real time saver.
Top Quality, (What's this?) I have just finished a couple rounds of canning raw pack meat, and I am in love with this canner. It is made in the USA and is a quality you don't find these days. This is one of those items that will be passed down for several generations.

My only advice is to read the manual thoroughly. It is different from other canners because of the metal to metal seal, so you must follow the instructions for lubrication and tightening to get the best results and not damage your canner.

The total measurements are 19 inches high with a 12-1/4-inch inside diameter. All-American pressure cookers are made in the USA. This cooker/canner is not suitable for glass or flat top ranges. The high heat generated by a pressure cooker can kill more bacteria than a regular hot water bath, making this pressure cooker the ideal tool for canning vegetables and non-acid fruit. All-American's 30-quart pressure cooker/canner holds up to 19 pint jars or 14 quart jars. Only All-American pressure cookers/canners feature an exclusive, precision-machined "metal-to-metal" sealing system. Clamping locks align the cover to the base, forming a steam-tight seal. This means no gaskets to crack, burn, replace, and clean. At the same time, the metal-to-metal seal permits venting under unusual pressure conditions, making the seal safer than conventional rubber or composition gasket cookers.

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 14-Inch Covered Wok with Glass Lid

hmmm, I took a look at a craigslist ad some guy had for sale. The sides of this wok are WAY TOO LOW. I'd be scared to cook stuff in it and have the food or oil fly out all over the place. I also like to use my wok for boiling spaghetti and other stuff but the sides are so low it almost seems like more of a frying pan than a wok. If this is the same model, then I'll pass on getting it.
My Best Wok, (What's this?) I'm very satisfied. I like the material and the size is just right for stir fry. The weight is not too heavy and easy to clean. The best part is that it's not coating. I don't need to worry about the material peeled off and mixed into the food.
I'm gonna have this forever!, (What's this?)
Great Wok, (What's this?) Excellent Wok for stir fry meals. Very large and can fit tons of food. Easy to clean.
Perfect, (What's this?) I've had this wok for 2 years now and I use it about once a month. I've used it on gas and electric (glass top) stoves and it works well on both. The wok is still in great condition and is easy to clean.
Good wok but not metal utensil safe, (What's this?) Got this wok recently. Its a great size and construction. Cooked a few meals in it and they came out wonderful. Only thing is, it is advertised as metal utensil safe. Thinking so, I fried up some pad thai using a metal spatula. The wok got pretty scratched up with indentations. I'm not sure but it seems like this thing is coated. I thought it was non-coated??? Guess I'll be using wooden utensils from now on. Other than that it is a great stove top wok. I use an electric stove and any meats cooked in it have this burnt charred look. Great for making bourbon chicken.
Best Wok EVER!!, (What's this?) I highly recommend this wok to everyone! This is one of the most valuable items in my kitchen. My family uses this wok frequently and for a variety of dishes. This wok is the perfect size where it fits well on the stove with other pots and pans cooking at the same time. It is also wide and deep enough to make large amounts. I have used this wok to make large batches of Pad Thai and sauteed veggies with pasta and sauce. These dishes require the multi-tasking abilities of this amazing wok. The non-stick surface is one of the best I've ever experienced! The wok heats very evenly and easily washes clean when you're done. In the winter we make several different delicious Indian dishes and sauces using this wok. All of our friends who have had dinner at our home have commented on how versatile and amazing this wok is. Several of them have even purchased it for themselves.
buy this wok !, (What's this?) I never owned a wok before, but this wok is so much fun to use. No worries about seasoning, or sticking . The wok has a good hefty weight to it. It looks really cool too ! The vegetables stay crisp , the wok cooks them so fast. I use a tiny amount of oil for flavor. I Have not used the cover yet, but it is a nice feature for future recipies. So easy to clean.
Light and non-stick wok with stylish lid, (What's this?) Actually I wrote a review already but previously I put 4 stars only as a matter pf fact, I wanted to put 5 stars.
Anyhow, I want to give 5 stars to the wok. This is the lightest non-stick wok I ever have. I just put a little of bid of oil to wok and stir fry a lot of vegetables or meat. I hope one day the manufacturer can produce the wok with deeper size in depth as Chinese, we like to stir fry a whole of food in a wok for our family.
Good product, (What's this?) I just received my 14 inch wok and I can't wait to cook. I made stir fried noodles and it came out good. I like it because it is big so I can have room to stir up the noodles.

    Imusa Mariquitera, Plantain Slicer, Large

This is a Joke, (What's this?) I bought this so called plantain slicer after searching in Amazon for a long while. Apparently there aren't any plantain slicers. This appeared to be the only plantain slicer. It looks adjustable from the diagram, right? No, wrong! It had a rod across with a screw at one end as you can see. Never mind all that! It does absolutely nothing. Noting about this is adjustable. The design and style looks like an old 18 century mouse trap. It may slice plantain though but it is certainly difficult to use. The fact that you can't adjust it only adds to how worthless it is. I certainly would not recommend this slicer, off course except he sold it as a woodpecker.

    All-Clad Stainless Paella Pan

Amazing cookware, I received a few all clad products (the paella pan, sauce pan, and a fry pan) for graduation and they are excellent. Despite not being teflon, food doesn't seem to stick and clean up is easy. The handles don't get hot even though they're metal too (they do get a little warmish, so be careful just in case). I'm not sure if I'm supposed to or not, but I put them in the dishwasher and haven't had any problems.

    Imusa Round Comal Griddle, 11-Inch

worst ever!, (What's this?) Do not buy this product, it is worthless. I bought this to cook flatbread. Not only did it burn the dough every time I tried, the surface also got messed up.
Not a great product, This was extremely poor quality. I got it for $5, so I wasn't expecting much. It does not heat evenly, burning the middle and undercooking the outside. Additionally, the base is not flat, so it is not ideal for electric/glasstop stoves.. The handles also get extremely hot -- I burned myself pretty badly with just a brief touch.
worthless, There's a reason it's so cheap. Just like the price so is the quality. It doesn't heat evenly so the middle gets burned while the outer area is still uncooked. It's probably only good for reheating already cooked tortillas.
It belongs in the trash! Please don't buy, I agree with everything the previous reviews state. I would like to add that there is a warning about birds and possible fume intoxication. There is a strong odor released from this griddle and it was strong enough to give me a terrible headache. We had to open up all the windows in the kitchen and living room to air out our house. Needless to say, I only used it twice and it went straight to the trash.
I somehow own this piece. I don't think it's worth siding a shed with, This is probably the worst cookware I've ever seen. It is far too thin, heats unevenly, and is so soft that I think you could scratch the surface with a cotton swab. Avoid this piece.
Not worth it., This product was ruined with just a few uses. I didn't even use high heat since that can sometimes damage non-stick surfaces. The middle part became burned quick. Anything I try to cook on it sticks to it. I thought I was getting a bargain when I bought it, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Lodge Logic, Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware Muffin/Cornbread Pan

Terrible muffin pans!, (What's this?) I bought two of these and they are HORRIBLE!! I greased them well because a previous reviewer stated that they required extra seasoning. Not ONE muffin out of an entire batch came out without sticking horribly. They are so much smaller than standard size that I can't use cupcake papers in these pans. I have a lot of Lodge cast iron, so I am surprised and disappointed with the lack of quality here.
great muffin pan, (What's this?) These do take some getting used to, adn they need some extra seasoning so they wont stick. They are great though.
This pan will rock your world, (What's this?) I really debated on buying this because of the people who complained about its size. I'm glad I listened to the opposition, because this pan produces gorgeous muffins. Baked to crusty perfection outside, moist inside. No problem with sticking. I'll admit it does look little, but it makes very reasonable sized muffins, far from mini muffins.

I was concerned that I'd have to adjust muffin recipes to make less to fit the pan, but that's not at all the case. The average muffin recipe yields a dozen -- if you've only got one pan, you've got to bake two batches -- and this pan works the same as your traditional/nonstick pan. I made a dozen muffins, with no batter left over. Perhaps the muffins are a little taller. I don't actually know. I ate mine too fast.
Muffin wells are sloped, not straight sided, (What's this?) I bought two of these to make Yorkshire puddings and popovers and specifically wanted a straight-sided muffin pan. These will probably still work, but are not as advertised.
Perfect size, I know some of the other reviewers did not like the small sized muffins, I guess this is a matter of taste - but for a mom with little ones I think they make the perfect size muffins - not mini but definitely small. I did season them once with spray oil in a heated oven before first use, then I spray and pre-heat before adding the batter and the muffins pop out easily even with multiple batches in a row (I use a silicone spatula to help ease them out). I bought two. The only change I would like to see is a handle or edging of sorts on the ends to make handling easier, especially with moist batter. Clean with stiff brush or nylon pad under water and you are done (no soap). Certainly not quite as quick and easy as using the paper cups but for a natural health-conscious, eco-conscious mom I love these.
Very small.... each cup hold 1/4 cup batter, (
Different than advertised, (What's this?) The product I received was not the straight-sided pan described but rather one which makes slightly smaller, regular-shaped muffins. Reading other reviews now, I see that apparently there are two different products sold under the one description. The muffins mine makes are 2-1/4" at the top, just under 2" at the base and the pan is about 1-1/2" deep.

So that being said, I'm very pleased with what I got. The pan doesn't make "mini-muffins" - they're just smaller than most other pans and a LOT smaller than what you would see in a coffee shop. I bought 2, and although they're not particularly cheap, I figure I won't have to replace them anytime soon.

I recommend re-seasoning them before use.
Give away other muffin pans, We bought this gem at the Lodge outlet store in Tennessee. Haven't used our old thin muffin pan or the floppy silicone one (gave it away) since. True, it seems like slightly smaller muffins, but it is straight-sided so it is more appearance than reality. Browns nicely and evenly. Keeps muffins warm until serving. Grease or spray well with oil and muffins slip right out. As with all cast iron, a little care and loving (don't abuse with soap) goes a long way to ensure a lifetime of great performance.
Lodge will never disappoint you!, (What's this?) Another great item from Lodge! The pre-seasoning is exceptional, and the cast iron is smooth and solid. The cups are smaller than those of a full size traditional cupcake pan, but are the perfect size for those who want to cut back on portion size.
Lodge Logic, is Fantastic! I love their products., (What's this?) I ordered three of these Lodge muffin pans. They are perfect for making and sending school treats in with my children. Cast iron is my favorite cooking material. If you heat up the pans in the oven with a bit of oil rubbed onto the cooking surface nothing sticks and you get a wonderful golden crust. Another nice thing to know about Lodge is that they are a USA company and make the cast iron here. I wish they would reintroduce their vintage stove top waffle irons.

Staub 5 Quart Oval Cocotte, Black

Simply The Best Roasting Pot I've Ever Had, I own the predecessor of this Staub pot, the same model but with a domed lid. I received it as a gift a couple of years ago. I am a serious cook-- have taken some culinary classes and enjoy cooking immensely. This pot is quite simply the best roasting pot I have ever owned. It is a very heavy cast iron pot which has been double coated with enamel. The lid and pot fit together perfectly. The craftsmanship is excellent. There are dots protruding from the inside of the lid that essentially channel condensed moisture (steam) back down as liquid onto whatever you're cooking-- sort of creating your own little rainforest in the oven. (You can also use the pot without the lid if you prefer dry heat.)

The design of the lid ensures moist cooking, which tenderizes meats. Cooking a whole chicken (and this pot easily accommodates a very large roaster) with spices and vegetables results in fall-off-the-bone moist, flavorful meat. Cooking a roast of beef or pork? Ditto-- the meat is tender, and the spices are roasted in. Vegetables more your style? This baby makes perfect stews, either on a stovetop or baked.

Best of all, if you season your pot correctly before you use it (instructions are provided), cleanup is a breeze. Just fill the pot with warm soapy water for 15-30 minutes and then wash with a nonabrasive utensil (so as not to scratch the enamel). Even the worst baked on sauces come off easily. Love it.

One word of caution: cutting anything with a sharp knife in your pot may ruin the enamel coating. It's okay to slice into something to test it as long as the knife tip doesn't hit the bottom or sides of the pot. To me, this slight trade-off of convenience is well worth it, given how well the pot works.
Is this the greatest thing since sliced bread?, (What's this?)
Absolutely Fantastic, Last weekend, I wanted to give the famous No-Knead bread recipe a try. For those who don't know what I am talking about, the New York times created a sensation about 4 years ago by publish articles and videos from a famous Hell's Kitchen baker, showing how to make the best and easiest bread you've ever made or tasted.

The recipe does include the use of a Dutch oven, French oven, or Cocotte. Call it what you like, the three pieces are nearly identical. You can use naked iron if you like, but the video tutorial clearly shows the master baker using porcelain-enamel cast iron. He liked the non-stick surface.

The only problem with trying this recipe was my clear lack of such a cast iron piece. Off I went looking for my item. I began with the notion of buying either Le Creuset or Lodge. Instead, I bought Staub. Why?

Both Le Creuset and Lodge shared a common problem: Plastic knobs. The no-knead recipe calls for 500-515F baking temperatures. Both plastic knobs melt-down past 400 degrees. Le Creuset offers a 18-10 stainless-steel replacement knob, and this knob will fit Lodge also. However, I could not fathom why a $300 piece should have anything made of plastic on it. They *_should_* make the 18-10 stainless knob the one-and-only knob. Being expected pony up $300 and $10 more was irksome.

Further, there was a better alternative. I could buy this lovely Staub with a nickel knob that was already safe for +500F temperatures. Further, I could have it cheaper than Le Creuset, and I could have a pair of nice little Cocottes tossed in for free. Now can you beat that? I love rustic cast-iron look, with the easy-to-clean nature of enamel.

I've already done two no-knead loafs in this Cocotte, and a Mac-n-Cheese. This thing is a fantastic performer. Everything has come out just fine so far. I've had exceptionally good luck with it so far.
Recommended by Cooking Instructor in Paris, (What's this?) I took a cooking class while in Paris and this is the pot the instructor recommended we use. It is fabulous.
Great product!, (What's this?) My husband gave this to me for Christmas and I've already used it a few times. It was a breeze to season and I can tell it heats extremely evenly. I really like the brass knob as opposed to the plastic one on Le Creuset.
Staub 5 Quart, (What's this?) My wife and I love the Staub 5 Quart Oval Cocotte. It seems that everything we cook in it just tastes better. The shipping from this seller was also timely.

It won?t discolor or rust and never needs seasoning.. An inspired fusion of old and new, function and style, Staub's La Cocotte French ovens are destined to be lifelong members of any kitchen. This 5-quart oval cocotte is one of the most versatile tools in a chef's lineup, turning out anything from weeknight dinners to Superbowl Sunday appetizers to buffet line dishes. Crafted of enameled cast iron for uniform warming and superior heat retention, the heavyweight vessel performs best at low to medium temperatures over longer time periods so flavors intensify and foods stay scrumptiously moist. The interior features a black matte finish that is almost indestructible and doesn't need seasoning; rather, the oils produced in cooking seep into the surface pores to create an organic nonstick coating. The rougher matte also browns, braises, and reduces better than a shiny polished glaze. In a clever use of modern technology, the cocotte's tight-fitting lid is studded with computer-designed spikes that catch and release steam to self-baste the entire surface of the meal. As handsome as it is hardworking, this vessel is fitted with a solid stainless-steel or brass finial that is generously sized for easy lifting and oven-safe to 600 degrees F. The exterior enamel also comes in a variety of fashionable colors that coordinate with other Staub cookware and offer an always-fresh serving appeal-go with a clean monochromatic look or mix up rich tones for a layered presentation. Cast in a single-use sand mold, each piece has its own subtle variations to make it truly unique, and the Staub name is molded into the lid and side handles to supply a fun rustic touch. The double-coated enamel resists chips and rust, and the smooth bottom is suitable for any cooking or dining surface. The cocotte goes safely into the dishwasher, though hand washing is recommended for heavy use, and it's backed by a lifetime limited warranty.

Range Kleen Stainless Steel 12 Inch Covered Chicken Fryer with Helper Handle

Not as described, (What's this?) I went to Range Kleen's website before buying this product to make sure it was induction compatible. This is the exact product description from their website:
"12 inch Stainless Steel Covered Chicken Fryer
Stainless Steel construction offers durability as well as fast, easy clean-up.
frying pan worth having!, (What's this?) This frying pan does everything one could ask. It cooks evenly, and cleans up easily. It has a substantial feel to it. Nice lid. It looks nice. My only concern is whether the handle will hold up over the long haul, as it flexes a bit when lifted with the pan full.
very large capacity, (What's this?) Can cook a large amount of food at once..only drawback is it ticks and makes noise when cooking, so I don't think it is a solid stainless. Still good value and is stainless all over.

    Lodge Pro-Logic Cast-Iron Aebleskiver Pan

    Lodge Pro-Logic Cast-Iron Aebleskiver Pan
Very happy so far, My wife had been thinking about buying this pan for a month or so and finally pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago. We made out first batch of apple aebleskivers this morning and were very happy with the results. As you would expect from Lodge cast iron, the pan is very sturdy and should last as long as we take decent care of it. It's also very easy to use. This was our first attempt at cooking aebleskivers, and we managed two batches that were nicely browned and well-cooked all the way through. It was a little tricky flipping them, but this was more due to our rookie technique that any issues with sticking. For the few here who had problems with sticking, I've seen online that you really should use an aebleskiver recipe, as opposed to pancake batter. Not sure what the difference is, but that's what the web aebleskiver gurus are saying.

All in all, we would both highly recommend this pan.
Æbleskiver Pan, (What's this?) Received this pan and made Æbleskivers (Danish Doughnuts) the next day. It is a heavy pan, fits neatly over the large burner and arrived well seasoned and ready to go. I've used it twice. It works on my gas stove, but the bottom looks like it would work on an electric range just as well. It is heavy and hold the heat when adding the batter. The doughnut balls came out just the right color, easy to turn and round. Handel does get hot, so use a hot pad when emptying.
Great product and fun too!, (What's this?) Had wanted one for a long time and found it at a good price. We have used it lots at home and it will be going on our next camping trip to be sure. Get one, you will be glad you did.
    So much fun!, (What's this?)
Perfect heat!, (What's this?) Like all the Lodge cast iron pieces I own, this provides perfect, even heat for cooking! I added a little oil to each well, turned them partway twice, and every Aebelskiver came out perfect. An added plus...
Great product, (What's this?) I have a couple of Lodge cast iron pans now. I've purchased the cheaper knock offs in the past but realized quickly it was no bargain. This pan is super heavy duty and like all well made cast iron products holds the heat well and keeps it evenly distributed. I don't just use it for Aebleskiver's either. There are a bunch of Asian dishes that this work great with, making perfectly portioned morsels. Lodge products are simply the best if you're looking for high grade cast iron cookware that will last for generations.
Expertly and solidly made, but unfinished!, (What's this?) It is surprising to me that a company that has made cast iron cookware since 1896 would throw away the surface finishing process. Although well made, reflecting generations of experience in sand casting techniques, the overall surface is extremely gritty, consisting of tiny pits and iron asperities. It would take a lot of seasoning to fill and smooth those.

Having bought both the round griddle and the aebleskiver pan, I was determined to fix this problem up. After an hour or so of careful, gentle and patient sanding of the flat griddle through decreasing sizes of grit on a sprung disk, and then a wire brush and fine polish with paste, the process of re-seasoning commenced. Using a combo of dripping and butter (oil is not preferred) the cooking surface, while still slightly pitted to help hold the seasoning, is now black and smooth as silk to the touch. I can fry an egg minus any fat at all, without sticking . The aebleskiver pan is only half sanded and smoothed at this stage. More difficult to do technically, and requiring much more focus, patience and no shortcuts, it will take quite some time before all those hemispherical formers are similarly smooth enough to not hold and bind the dough. Eventually the original gritty surface would accommodate enough accumulated seasoned layers to smooth the surface, but I'm not willing to wait that long.
Easy to use, (What's this?) I had no trouble using this pan with several different recipes from the internet and books. The pan heats evenly, at least on my gas stove top. I had no trouble with sticking from the first to the last.
quality pan that's easy to use, (What's this?) Before buying this pan, I did some research and read all kinds of reviews including those listed here on Amazon. One thing I learned was buy cast iron and buy American. Having had a cast iron skillet, I knew it was a good investment. The pan arrived one day sooner than expected. It came on a weekday so I waited to try it out on Father's Day. Armed with all the helpful hints from readers, my first batch turned out beautifully.

The pan comes pre-seasoned. I washed it quickly with hot water (no soap) and dried it off with a towel. I have an electric stove with coils. The temperature setting goes from high to low with 9 settings in between. I set the stove at 5 which is about halfway. Once the pan seemed heated, I brushed the insides of the wells with melted butter letting it settle in the bottom of the wells.
Good Buy, (What's this?) I bought this pan recently, just for the fun of experimenting with a new food. It's easy to use and care for, and doesn't stick too bad to the food. I did find that I needed to heat the pan longer than one would expect, in order to have the even heating one needs to cook well. This could be more a problem with my outdated stove than with the pan, I'm not sure. No big deal, I just turn the burner on low/med and start heating the pan before I start making the batter (and then kick up the heat). The money vs. quality value balance is good, considering I won't be making these frequently and you can really only use it for one food. Unless you are a professional/commercial cook who will be making them very often or constantly, I think it's much better to buy this one than a crazy expensive version or import. But even then, I think this pan would do just fine.

This seasoned and ready to use Danish Cake pan is also called an "Aebleskiver, which means "Sliced Apples" in Danish, is excellent for making Danish "pancake balls". Considered a specialty bakeware item, the little round cups are filled with dough and as it starts cooking, the chef uses a little wooden stick to "flip" it into a little ball which can then be filled with fruit, such as sliced apples.
