Chicago Metallic 69610 Professional Nonstick Perforated French Bread Pan Italian bread anyone?

great bread pan however..., (What's this?) It is useful gadget for a bread lover.
great french bread pan!, This works so much better than using a flat baking sheet for making french bread. It is curved and it helps shape the loaf. The perforations are great for a crisp crust, the whole thing is nice solid construction and I can make two loaves at once!

It can go in the dishwasher although with the perforations I think it might just be easier to clean by hand, sometimes stuff can get stuck in there.

I can't say enough nice things about this pan. If you bake bread this is a MUST HAVE. It will make your loaves really look professional out of the oven.
Fabulous!, This pan is absolutely perfect for baking baguettes. I lightly brush it with an oiled paper towel, but it may not even need that.
The loaves come out perfectly browned, crispy and crusty and slide off easily. I'm sold.
Works great, Works great - crust comes out nice, and it is definitely more convenient than using a stone and a peel.

The only issue I tend to have with it is that it is difficult to cover the loaves with plastic wrap while they proof. The unusual shape of the pan contributes to this - there isn't anything protruding high enough to drape the wrap over. I just end up covering it very loosely so that it doesn't constrict the dough, and so that the wrap doesn't stick.

You will get lots of little dots on the bottom of your loaf, but it isn't a big deal. Crust turns out fine (though I still use steam/etc).
Winning!!, (What's this?) This bread pan is awesome!! I recommend this to everyone! I am a novice bread-maker and it makes professional-looking bread.
Should the paint scrape off on first use?, (What's this?) I am a novice baker who has just started baking bread using a Peter Reinhart book as a guide. Although I have followed his advice and baked French baguettes on a hearthstone,I saw this perforated pan and thought I would give it a try.
I Just Threw Mine In the Garbage, (What's this?) I bought the predecessor to this pan about twenty years ago. It served me very well. Bread didn't stick to it, the non-stick coating didn't come off, and it always produced good bread. I replaced it only because I made the mistake of laying it down on a hot burner on my stove and damaged it.

I bought this pan about six months ago. Within about half a dozen uses, the "non-stick" (more on "non-stick" later) coating was being rubbed off on the bottom of the pan. Shortly thereafter, bread would stick to the edges of the pan. Today, bread stuck to nearly the entire pan, although the bread dough wasn't at all sticky when I put it into the pan. I couldn't get the bread out of the pan. It's in the garbage now. I'm done with this pan, and I'm done with Chicago Metallic (actually made in China) equipment.
good pans, (What's this?) I am learning to bake bread and have enjoyed a french bread recipe, but till I got these pans, my loaves were not very pretty. I like them and they clean up easy. Bread comes out just right.
Nice Bread Pan, (What's this?) Bought this pan so I could make multiple small loaves of bread.
It does what I needed it to do. Wish that the finish wouldn't
scratch so easily. Bread doesn't stick as long as I spray with
Pam and use lots of cornmeal.
Italian bread anyone?, (What's this?) I've made 3 batches of italian bread with this bread pan and it came out perfect everytime. The perforations make the bread bake nicely.

Having trouble getting French bread to look and taste like the local baker's? This professional perforated French bread pan is the answer. With two 16-by-4-inch curved holders, it's ideal for making two loaves of French bread. The perforations in the curved holders promote a crisp crust and even browning by allowing the oven's heat to reach the bread directly. Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick Panini Pan and Press Heavy and excellent - will last a lifetime

Instant Mouthwatering Italian Panini, This pan & press, some olive oil and some italian seasoning make an unbeatable combination! My wife and I were thrilled with this product and how it can crank out those hot panini sandwiches grilled to perfection. I find myself figuring out how to use it at almost every meal- sandwiches, quesadillas, you name it. Very pleased with this product- much easier to clean than those "George Foreman" type grills too.
Paninis, Quesadillas, and Grilling!, I received this as a gift and was so impressed with the versatility of the pan! It works beautifully for years now and I've made many varieties of panini, quesadillas, and grilled veggies. Some of my favorite panini combos are: 1) apple, bacon, brie; 2) tomato, mozzarella, pesto; 3) avocado, pepper jack cheese, tomato.

To get grill marks on both sides of the panini: Put two slices of bread on the heated pan, only put your cheese on one slice, and all your toppings on the other slice. Once the cheese is mostly melted, put that bread slice on top of the toppings slice. Then use the lid to press the pieces together and let it heat through. I like focaccia best because it presses well without losing its texture but I've also used soft wheat bread and sliced white bread successfully.

The pan is also great for quesadillas! I put a tortilla on the heated pan and spread cheese and salsa on half the tortilla. Once the cheese starts to melt, fold the tortilla onto itself and use the lid to press together.

I've used the pan as a grill for veggies like zucchini, red pepper, green pepper, and onions by lightly spraying it with olive oil and adding a little garlic just before I'm ready to take the veggies off.

I rarely put the burner above medium heat. I've found it's best to put your oil on, set the burner to medium-low and let the pan heat up for about 5 minutes before adding your bread or tortilla.
Great paninis, I wanted a panini maker to use at home and in the RV. This takes up less space and is non-electric. You can use it on the stovetop or a grill, haven't tried it in the oven. The lid is heavy so it does a good job of "squishing" the sandwich. Great Calphalon quality.
My new favorite item!, (What's this?) First, let me say that I am a lazy, inexperienced cook. I don't like to spend time in the kitchen so I tend to eat foods that take very little time to make. This little pan is absolutely perfect and couldn't be more simple to use.

I turn the oven on medium heat and spray the outside of Italian bread with olive oil. I put together the ingredients and then spray the pan. Two minutes on each side and they are ready to eat. The bread gets nice and brown, the ingredients on the inside are warm, and the cheese is melted. Simple and quick!

I am able to fit three sandwiches in the pan but it is a little easier to flip them with two. The quality of the pan is fantastic and it looks like it will last a long time. The press is heavier than it looks and presses down the sandwiches very nicely.

I have used this pan at least 3-4 times a week since I purchased it.
Excellent Pan, (What's this?) Works well for any meat you'd like to have grill marks on. Further the sandwiches, so sorry - panni's are the very best. I would have liked a mini guide on gauging pan temp.- on meat and use of press vs. not. I've even done fish. Excellent value, especially if there are only two...
Wonderful, (What's this?) I purchased this last week and trust me, this is just great. I have used it more this week than any other pan in my home.
Love my Gift, (What's this?) I gave this grill to my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. she has used it almost every day since Christmas. I am getting one for me.
Heavy and excellent - will last a lifetime, (What's this?) I purchased this panini pan specifically because it came "with" a pre-fitted press. Trying to buy both a pan and a press separately is ridiculous. The packaging was very well protected around the coating of the pan, and the quality is obvious.
Really Heavy, (What's this?) This pan is of really high quality. I have only had occasion to use it once and it worked out quite well. However, I was just using white regular bread and the rather heavy "lid" pretty well "squished" the ingredients. If using another bread such as thick panini or another thick sliced bread I am sure it would work very well. The ridges on the pan contribute well to the appearance and texture of the finished product. I will definately use this again using another type of bread.
Good Grill Pan, (What's this?) This is a good grill pan. It's not as heavy as I expected, but it is totally non-stick. Panini's have to be flipped over, so some care has to be taken to keep the sandwich together. The pan holds up to high temperatures if you want to pan fry meats, and it gives them nice grill marks. I found the press to be very useful for many other purposes. Bottom line, if you want a multi-purpose grill pan that will also do panini's, without having to store a uni-task appliance, than this is the one to get.

Imusa Aluminum Coffee Percolator Imusa Coffee Percolator

Imusa Coffee Percolator, (What's this?) I bought my Imusa Coffee Percolator . It's great it doesn't exactly look
my grandmother's old Coffee percolator . I don't notice any difference with it
even though the percolator basket is made of plastic not metal like my
grandmother's . The coffee made in it taste smooth like i like it , not
like the modern coffee makers . Overall I am pleased with it have retired
my electric coffee maker for a future date .
A new twist on an old fashioned cup of coffee..., I ordered this pot for my wife and the very first thing we noticed was that instead of an aluminum grounds basket this pot is shipped with a plastic basket! While I don't drink coffee my wife reports that even after several uses she can still taste the plastic.
Poor perfomance, (What's this?) This is a very poor product. The Coffee Basket is plastic and only encompasses about 2/3rds of the diameter of the pot. There is no lid provided for the Grounds basket and as a result the coffee is served with significant amount of grounds in it. If I hadn't waited so long to go camping and used this earlier, I would have returned it for a full refund. Not worth even half the money and not what was expected even for half the price.
Works great for my purposes., (What's this?) This stove top coffee percolator works great to heat water in. I don't use it to percolate coffee. I actually heat my water and pour over coffee grounds in a filter over a caraffe. 5 Stars.

Joyce Chen 14 Inch Aluminum Wok Lid with Wood Knob Elegant

Elegant, (What's this?) This top came separately from my new Joyce Chen carbon steel wok, but they look great together. The wood knob at the top matches the wooden handles on the wok. It's definitely styled a little better than the old one I had, and it works every bit as well.
Cheap construction., This 14 inch lid did not fit my 14 inch Wok. It sits about an inch below the rim so it is possible to use it but certainly not ideal. It it pretty flimsy. Luckily, most of my recipes don't call for the Wok to be covered.
fits my 14" wok just peachy!, (What's this?) I looked all over to find a lid for my wok frypan I got at Walmart. This lid fits the pan perfectly.
wok lid, It fits our wok, is light weight, and we expect it will be easy to clean as well. It came pre-dinged up, but that does not concern us.
High Quality Lid - ? No way Jose, (What's this?) This has got to be one of the flimsiest, cheapest wok lids ever created. Joyce Chen, if you are going to say your products are high quality, they should be! They were shipped to us in a light box and they are so thin and flimsy that the box came completely smashed and the lids were bent out of shape. I'm not talking a little bend either. Completely bent into a crescent shape. If you are looking for a solid, traditional wok lid, keep looking. This was a complete waste of time and money. To boot, the seller wants to retain a re-stock fee for the return. Least favorite amazon purchase to date.
Perfect size for my 14" wok, This lid is not 14" it's about 13" so it sits perfectly on my 14" wok.
It's very light, made of aluminum, in-expensive, doesn't have shiny/expensive look, I simply like it.

Cooking with wok in high heat usually needs faster hands to toss food around and you can't use same size lid since you can't "close-and-open" the lid very fast if it's the same size as your wok.
disappointment, (What's this?) I ordered this because my husband bought a wok without a lid and he already used the wok so we couldn't return it. Anyway, when I received this cheap aluminum lid, it was okay. It was bent into a non-circular shape due to shipping but I easily bent it back so that it would fit our 14" wok (it fits maybe about 1/2" or more inside the wok, which is fine). I'm okay with all of these small inconveniences so far.
wok lid, (What's this?) The lid is simple and light weight. It has a nice wood knob, so you never have to touch a hot lid. It is easy to clean and inexpensive. Works perfect for my needs.
Cheap design and materials, This lid was a disappointment. It arrived from Amazon in a plastic bag, and was easily dented during shipment.
14" wok lid (Joyce Chen), Although I noted online that the lid was to be inserted inside the wok rather than on top, I was somewhat disappointed that the lid sat an inch below the top edge. I don't know why the lid was specified for a 14" wok. It really is better suited for a 13" wok. Material is okay so far.

All-Clad Stainless-Steel Serving Tray with 13-inch Pizza-Baking Stone Insert and Pizza Cutter Looks good so far

    how do you use it?,
The ONLY way to make a pizza, (What's this?) If you want a great pizza and have been thinking about trying a pizza stone - this is the one! It's a world of difference than using a pan, you get way better pizza on the stone. Plus it a great for breads too. I would highly recommend this product. We have made so many pizza's since we got it that it's not funny and we haven't tired of it yet. Plus we're still experimenting with different breads. The tray has convenient handles, perfect for it's weight. It is very heavy, we ordered our first one from 'another place' and it came cracked. We re-purchased the same exact one at Amazon - they packed it well. You should buy a cheap peel while you are at it until you get the feel for it and decide on a good one.
Made in China., (What's this?) "Today, from its rolling mill in Southwest Pennsylvania, All-Clad Metalcrafters is the only bonded cookware manufacturer who utilizes American craftsmen and American-made metals to produce a complete line of finished bonded cookware products." - All-Clad Website.

So much for that... This thing is actually made in China, tray, stone, pizza cutter - all from China. Thus if you, like me, were thinking "Well I am spending FOUR times more than most other pizza stones on Amazon, but hey, this thing is made by All-Clad right here in PA so it's worth it!" - think again.

Moreover, the stone arrived with a few surface scratches that stick out even after being used several times. Not really a big deal, but seriously, for this price the stone should look amazing.
The serving tray itself has turned golden yellow after the first use. Once again, not really a big deal, but at this price it should look brand new years later and not discolor after the first use.

In short, while this item serves it's purpose well, the price is just not justifiable for something that does not stay true to the All-Clad brand and does not arrive in immaculate condition.
Looks good so far, (What's this?) I just got this but have not yet used it. Will add on later after use. But this product is sturdy, solid, and has a look of class that All Clad products have. The stone is soapstone, not the typical ceramic. I am not sure if that is good or bad. The pizza cutter is high quality, too.
Pizza anytime!, (What's this?) I've worked in a local pizzeria for many years a while ago, and since then I've tried to recreate the same pizzas at home. My attempts seemed futile to make one at least close to the ones that I've used to do in the pizzeria until I heard about pizza stones. Reluctantly, I thought I tried many other things, why not this? The result was a pizza more closely than using any other cooking surface to cook a pizza. I have this All-Clad pizza stone, and another one from other brand that I bought at another store, and I have to say this one cooks really nice the crust, I can get it the crust golden and crunchy, just how I like it.

4 stars only because the size, because I would like to make it bigger than what is available, but no luck. Overall, another great product from All-Clad.
Loved this stone, My sister got this for a gift for my GF and I when we moved in together. We both love cooking and the gf also loves making bread.

I make pizzas on this thing at least once a month.

Personally I put the whole thing in the over, crank the heat (550 is my max) and let it heat up.

From there I par bake my crusts for 4 minutes and take them out and put them on a wire rack while I top them.
On the par bake we use parchment as the crust is so thin it is hard to work with. So we slide it on parchment paper onto the stone.

I then put the topped pizzas back in for 4 more minutes or until I think they are done. Cool the pizzas on a wire rack again. Then transfer to cutting board. I find the rack keeps it crispier.

I spent a lot of time testing crusts and found this to be the best recipe for a thin true Italian style crust. Search for:"Remembering Italy with Thin Crust Pizza at Home - Why Make Pizza Any Other Way?"

Update: We used this the other night and left it in the oven. When we went to pull it out yesterday the stone was cracked. So I took it from 5 stars to 1.

The Crack went all the way through. I will still think I will be able to use it, but it is pretty disappointing that it would crack. It was not dropped or taken from hot to cold very quickly. We also never cut anything on it.

I plan to contact all clad, and see what they will do about it. As of now, I can no longer recommend it.
Just a little heavy, This makes excellent pizza and the cutter is the best I have used. We only have two complaints. First, it is quite heavy, so if you want to take the whole stone out after a pizza is cooked it can be awkward. We tend to do this and the handles make it possible (a real advantage over many other stones). Second, it can be a little hard to clean up. Soapstone is obviously a natural product, and things like burnt cheese can can caught in the stone's pores.

I own an Emile Henry Flame pizza stone as well that I like better. Make no mistake, however, this is a quality All-Clad product and it does it's job very well.
Good while it lastested (one pizza!), This is a very good quality stone. It is very thick and heavy. Unfortunantly I only got to make one pizza as it had a accident and fell off the bench. Its not as sturdy as I thought and broke straight away. I can't afford to get a new one as it was quite expensive. The pizza cutter is wonderful, at least I still have that!
Can I get a replacement stone only? I don't know...
First piece of All-Clad to disappoint, (What's this?) The appeal of this piece for me was that it could be used not just for baking but also for serving. Best of all, it matches other pieces of All-Clad we use when dining en famille, like the little All-Clad stainless ramekins.

Originally I was going to buy this from a well-known cookware chain but at the time I was ready to make the purchase, they were out of stock, so I bought it here on Amazon from MetroKitchen.

Mistake. The stone is badly scratched on both sides. I don't know how the scratches might affect the stone's performance in the oven, nor do I know if foods will stick in the scratches and be difficult or impossible to remove but those are both concerns.

It's quite heavy so the idea of having to re-pack for an exchange it doesn't thrill me. And chances are, any replacement would be scratched too. Most likely we'll keep it, but I'm irritated that anything with the All-Clad name (and price) arrived in such poor condition. Perhaps I can find another pizza stone or marble cheese board to fit in the stainless frame.
All-Clad Pizza, (What's this?) Disappointed that it included no instructions for using or cleaning. No recipes either. Nothing other than the pizza tray/stone and cutter.

Myson Authentic Spanish Polished Steel Paella Pan, 13-1/2-Inch Bueno

Bueno, (What's this?) Mucho Grande, Wonderfull! for large family, guest use.
Very large , easy to use and easy clean up. cook lovely paella.
Great Pan!, This pan is terrific. And delivered right on time as stated. Thank you.
Authentic Paella Pan, (What's this?) This is an authentic paella pan but I can't use this kind in the winter. This kind must be used on an open flame and it is very difficult to get clean after using because it takes using it a number of times before it is properly seasoned. Perhaps I am just getting lazy in my old age, but I think it is so much easier to prepare the ingredients ahead of time and then assemble them and place in the oven to finish and/or marry. This summer, I will have fun playing with the two pans I bough. I will use them on the gas grill outside. That is when this review probably should be written.
Excellent results!, (What's this?) This pan ships with VERY clear directions for seasoning and maintenance, which were greatly appreciated. Our first bach of paella came out wonderfully.
Nice paella pan, (What's this?) This is a nice pan to cook paella in. It needs to be seasoned before using, but once that is done, cooking on it is a snap as is clean up. It makes plenty of paella for 8 people. It also makes a good presentation.
Ms. Chao, (What's this?) I followed the instructions step by step when I first received the pan. It did not turn out the way it should be and I regret not buying a more expensive one instead.

  • Use with a gas stove or over an open fire outdoors.
  • This paella pan serves 4 people.
  • This is an authentic pan, made in keeping with traditional paella pans that have been used in Spain through the ages.
  • Made in Spain from carbon steel which is the ideal material for cooking the perfect paella.
  • A paella pan has a variety of uses, it is great for grilling, fish fries, clam bakes, breakfast, and much more!

  • Use with a gas stove or over an open fire outdoors..This paella pan serves 4 people..This is an authentic pan, made in keeping with traditional paella pans that have been used in Spain through the ages..Made in Spain from carbon steel which is the ideal material for cooking the perfect paella..A paella pan has a variety of uses, it is great for grilling, fish fries, clam bakes, breakfast, and much more!. This 13.5 inch carbon steel* pan is the ideal product for cooking the perfect paella. This pan is made in old fashioned tradition and is a true paella pan – wide, round and shallow, and with splayed sides. It is exactly the type that has been used in Spain through the ages. In order to cook paella, you need a paella pan! The shape and construction make the difference. Paella is cooked in a thin layer which is the reason that paella pans are large and shallow. You will notice the large cooking surface that dips slightly in the middle to facilitate pooling of oil during preliminary sautéing. Myson paella pans are ideally suited for paella, but you will find your way to limitless uses for other dishes. Its great for grilling, fish fries, clam bakes, breakfast, and a variety of outdoor cooking. Myson paella pans are meant to be used over an open flame, either in the kitchen on a gas cook top or over an open fire outdoors. Great for cookouts, hikes, and picnics too. This pan’s carbon steel material allows for even heating and is the traditional material that improves as it ages. The red handles are produced from steel and painted with heat resistant paint, which is a Spanish trademark. At first use, your paella pan will season and develop a thin carbonized layer adhered to the cooking surface. Upon repeated use, this seasoning will result in a natural non-stick surface that adds a subtle flavor that improves with age. Check out our other products available right here on Amazon.com. ________________________________________ Important Information Directions: Requires seasoning (begins at first use and develops with repeated use). A well seasoned pan will have a nonstick coating that naturally protects it from rust. Product is dishwasher safe, however we recommend only light hand washing with mild soap and water. Not recommended for electric or glass top stoves.
