Makes Steaming a Pleasure, (What's this?) My husband and I are cutting down on our fried food and we love Asian food, so this steamer settles both issues deliciously! I recently made potstickers and they came from the steamer fluffy and tender. We'll be using the set again very soon! As suggested, I used steamer liners to keep the bamboo fresh and prevent sticking; I recommend that a liner always be used, and they're not expensive. After using metal steamers, this set prepares all kinds of food much better. This steamer is a fine example of what I expect from someone of Joan Chem's status but still priced extremely well. It arrived on time and in perfect condition.
Nice set, but the size didn't work for my pan, (What's this?) I was bummed that this was too small for my pan, so double check the size of your pan. It is a nice set though.
Does a terrific job on veggies, (What's this?) I've been using this joyce chen bamboo steamer several times a week for the last 3 months. I steam mixed vegetables, potatoes, and sweet potatoes in it and am very happy with the results. It still surprises me how good the veggies smell and taste in these steamers.. especially if you add some italian seasonings to them before they are steamed. This is a great oil free option for cooking. Easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to store.
Great bamboo steamer, great quality, This bamboo steam has really construction, looks like it will hold for awhile. It is absolutely perfect for making baozhi. I am very happy with this purchase, I am hoping it will hold up well like my last one.
seems awesome but i need HELP!!, first off the item looks great but my only problem is that it's too big for my frying pan.....i'm not to sure how to really use it other than what the directions said but do you any of you have any advice on what i should buy in order to properly use this item.....
I love this steamer, (What's this?) This steamer rocks!! I steam fish and veggies in here all the time. It allows for the right amount of steam and my food is always delicious. Very happy with my purchase.
Great Addition to Your Wok, (What's this?) I absolutely love these steamers. I also, to my shame, torched one. (Make SURE you never, ever run out of water.) I'll eventually get around to ordering a new set, but until then I will continue to enjoy the single steamer I have left.
AWESOME value!, (What's this?) Wonderful value! The bamboo really does prevent the steam from dripping on to your food and washing away the minerals. It is very easy to care for, but I would DEFINITELY recommend using parchment liners. Let's face it, steaming makes things hot and sticky, so prepare for it and you'll be fine.
